The locally-assembled GTR 150S scooter is the product of Naza's latest collaboration with Taiwan-based CPI Motor Co and marks a vote of confidence in Naza, said Tan Sri S.M. Nasimuddin S.M. Amin, the chairman and chief executive officer of Naza Group of Companies.
Nasimuddin was speaking to reporters at the launch of the Naza version of the scooter yesterday.

As part of the deal, Naza will provide service and repair support for the older GTR 150S, which saw its marketer Johor-based Ritz Motor Corp making recalls.
“Of the 335 units of the GTR 150S marketed by Ritz Motor, we have repaired 129 through our recall programme," Naza Bikes deputy president Zulkifli S.M. Amin said.
According to the agreement with CPI Motor, the recall programme would end after the re-launch of the new version by Naza, he added.

On the Naza Group's bid to take a significant stake in national carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd, Nasimuddin said the company was open to taking a smaller stake.
”It's up to the Government whether to give us a percentage of the shares," he stated. “If the Government wants to give the whole 28%, we will take it. If the Government wants to give 15%, we also don't mind.”
As to Naza's chances of getting a stake in Proton, he said Khazanah Nasional had yet to get back to the company since it made its proposal in early January.
Naza has also been in talks with German carmaker Volkswagen AG and France's Peugeot Citroen PSA as possible partners for its Proton bid, Nasimuddin said.
